Save The Date
The “Save The Date” cards are a fun way to celebrate your engagement and express your happiness and personality to your friends, family, and future guests. Although it is not mandatory, since your wedding invitations will give all of the information your guests need, it’s a fun detail that most couples choose to do.
This is sent out sometime after your engagement party, long before you formal invites. This gives guests some warning, to let them plan anything they need to in order to attend you wedding.
There is no strict guidelines as to what these cards need be, only that they include the date. They often don’t include any other information, as things such as location, venue, and time are announced in the formal invitation, and have not yet been planned.
You can send the traditional card, perhaps with a photo of the two of you from an engagement photo shoot you’ve already done. Or, it can even be sent by email, or announced on your personal wedding site where your guests can visit. This is one of the least formal details of your wedding, so have fun with it! This is another way to celebrate your engagement!
